Short of going to travelling to NYC's Katz deli for their famous Reuben sandwich, you can create your version in the comfort of your kitchen: corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing, rye bread.

Eating a chip sandwich doesn't have to be for teenagers playing video games or hungover uni students. This sophisticated chip sambo features sweet potato slivers baked in paprika, olive oil, salt and pepper until crispy, then pilled onto rolls or sandwich bread with avocado, sprouts and a *special* spicy sauce.

This recipe involves making a pork terrine from scratch. Haven’t done it before? It’s never too late to learn. Bl pork mince with fish sauce and salt into a fine paste, then wrapping it in a banana leaf (or a baking dish covered tightly with foil) and simmering it in salted water for an hour. You can of course also use store-bought pork terrine.

If you're looking for creative ways to use up leftover cooked prawns, look no further than this flavour-bomb of a sandwich: sweet prawns, crispy pancetta, zingy lemon and sumac, refreshing cabbage and mint, and a little sriracha chilli sauce to really seal the deal.

This sandwich is a little labor-intensive due to the different components, but don’t let that deter you - your efforts will pay dividends. The components include and all-star lineup of: chicken marinated in a bunch of Middle-Eastern spices (most you’ll have on hand, like paprika, cumin and turmeric), there's a salsa of red onion and cucumber, a spiced tahini sauce, and a Yemenite green chilli sauce known as zhoug. If you need to cut corners, you can use pre-bought chilli sauce.
