All four of the original Iron Chefs are reuniting on stage at the Sydney Opera House's Concert Hall on Wedesday 2 August for an epic charity dinner.

Rokusaburo Michiba, Hiroyuki Sakai, Kenichi Chen and Japan’s ‘Prince of Pasta’ Masahiko Kobe  will be cooking side by side for the first time since the cult FujiTV program ended in 1997, creating a gastronomical dinner to help raise funds for Opportunity International Australia.

“This will be the first and last time the oldest Iron Chef, Rokusaburo Michiba, cooks outside of Japan,” said Iron Chef Ikuei Arakane, who spearheaded all the Iron Chef events in Australia. “He is 87 years old and has long retired, but his passion to represent Japan for such a historical culinary event got him excited to create a dish that will be the first in the world!”

The four original Iron Chefs will be joined by 2 Michelin Star Kentaro Chen from Shisen Hanten and Asia’s Top Pastry Chef Janice Wong from 2am Dessert Bar / Cobo House.

They’ll serve up plates of delicious food right to your table, magically matched with premium Dassai sake, wines and free flowing Kirin Ichiban beer. We’re anticipating plenty of suspense from the TV legends, who are no stranger to some seriously intense cooking conditions.

Tickets were originally priced at $990 per seat but they’ve dropped to $495 (half price!) as of today. So, make like a banana and split – they’re on sale at the , right now.

Iron Chef Gauntlet is coming to Food Network and on Tuesday 1 August.
