Episode 1 - Crowd pleasers

Nigella’s got company and she’s sharing her foolproof, stress-free recipe for a party with fabulous food and lots of fun for the guests and host. On the menu is shrimp cocktail in baby gem leaves, a bountiful spicy beef chilli with a golden crispy cornbread topping served with cool green guacamole and all the sides. All followed by chocolate cherry trifle that’ll knock their socks off and that’s so delicious you’ll have to stop yourself from diving in headfirst. 

Episode 2 - Weekend wonders

It’s the weekend, which means time for friends, feasting, leisurely baking and cooking with the kids, and Nigella’s serving up a lunch that everyone goes crazy for. There’s chicken and sausage bake served with crispy rosemary roast potatoes and French-style petit pois, plus upmarket cheese on toast, otherwise known as Welsh rarebit, and a fun-to-make-and-decorate chocolate honey bee cake.

Episode 3 - Delicious dinners

Airs Wednesday 27 July at 6pm on SBS

Time for dinner for two at Nigella’s with three meals that are super-fast and full of flavour. First, there’s speedy after-work saki salmon followed by light-as-air zabaglione. Then there’s the ultimate anytime roast chicken salad and finally, a meal that’s perfect for small numbers - crunchy pork chops topped with a spinach and tomato salad. Forget “Hostess with the Mostess”, this is food you can whip up in a flash and enjoy at leisure.

Episode 4 - Fun food

Nigella Lawson shares her fabulous and fun recipes that appeal to kids of all ages. Whether you’re 8 or 80 you’ll love mozzarella-stuffed blood and guts baked potatoes served with crisp coated ritzy chicken nuggets and capery salad, cut-out cookies that are as good to eat as to decorate, a refreshing Shirley Temple cocktail, and velvety green pea slime soup!

Episode 5 - Breakfast all hours

Who said morning is the only time for breakfast? Nigella cooks up that everyday favourite, boiled egg and toast, as well as raspberry and oatmeal swirls that will wow brunch guests. She makes crunchy chocolate peanut granola, yummy granola muffins and flipping cheese cakelets with strawberry sauce for a leisurely breakfast with the kids, plus a fantastic back-from-the-party midnight feast of bacon and tomato hash. All to be enjoyed at any time of the day.

Episode 6 - Chocolate heaven

The domestic goddess shares her all-time favourite hall of fame chocolate recipes. From the unbelievably delicious and simple old-fashioned chocolate cake with thick chocolatey frosting, through a moreish chocolate cheesecake, chocolate caramel crispy cakes, and chocolatey chewy triple chocolate brownies, to the perfect nightcap, rum-laced hot chocolate. Phew - that’s a lot of chocolate!

Episode 7 - Food to go

This episode is all about the perfect portable food - feast on mushroom pasta bake and stunning cranberry glazed ham, to outrageous glazed quadruple chocolate cake and pumpkin, radicchio and feta salad to share with colleagues. Or try Nigella’s favourite on-the-go snack – a delicious Hungarian sandwich.

Episode 8 - Exotic evening

Nigella Lawson’s cooking up a tasty bite-sized feast that’s fit for a crowd.  On the menu are red kidney bean and roasted eggplant dips, a cooling green fatoush salad with toasted pita shards, bulgur wheat and nut salad, plus moreish tiny aromatic lamb meatballs. This is an exotic feast to linger over.

Episode 9 - Solitary sensations

Even when home alone, Nigella prepares everything from delicious snacks to full meals like roasted lamb shank served with creamy pea puree. She adores simple spaghetti carbonara eaten straight from the pan, grilled halloumi with egg and mint, and who can forget her Chocohotopots, little individual molten chocolate desserts. Even in the dead of night and back home from a party, Nigella’s in the kitchen rustling up a back-from-the-bar snack.

Episode 10 - Just desserts

Nigella Lawson is crazy about dessert, and this episode sees her making her all-time favourites, such as peach Melba - succulent poached peaches with fresh berry sauce over a scoop of cool vanilla ice-cream; black and white cream - a dramatic combination of meringue and cassis-soaked blackcurrants and cupcakes with snow-white royal icing with a charming bouquet of floral decorations; and last but not least is fruit fizz - the easiest dessert ever that’ll have everyone begging for more, and for the recipe, too.

Episode 11 - Spiced up

Feast on Nigella’s spicy Indian-influenced banquet with wow-factor dishes like creamy Mughlai chicken curry, fluffy fragranced pilaf, and colourful green pea and cheese curry muttar paneer. There are a cooling yoghurt and pomegranate raita to spoon over the meal, alongside all the usual sides, plus chewy spiced macaroons to finish.

Episode 12 - Feel-good food

This episode is all about food that looks good, tastes good and makes you feel good. Nigella whips up a heavenly smoked salmon, avocado and pumpkin seed salad with fantastic textures, a Vietnamese prawn and glass noodle salad that’s packed with flavour, a red salad, a colourful antioxidant fruit salad, and a great twist on a classic recipe - a syllabub yoghurt. 

Episode 13 - Comfort foods

Nigella Lawson gives us a taste of her favourite comfort foods – simple, delicious recipes where each mouthful is as reassuring as the last. There’s a soothing beef casserole served with double potato mash to share with a friend, stir-fried rice, warm sticky toffee sauce poured over cold vanilla ice-cream, chocolate chip muffins, and her mother’s very own favourite - a steaming bowl of sweet bread and milk.
