Ingredients

  • dates
  • sesame seeds
  • walnuts

Instructions

Remove the seed from each date and mix flesh to a puree.

Take some of the sesame seeds and grind them to a coarse powder. Then take a small scoop of the date flesh, flatten it into approximate 5 cm diameter circle and dip each side in the ground sesame seeds. Then place 2 half pieces of walnut in the middle and close the date circle around the walnut to make a ball. Roll in the whole sesame seeds and there you have it.

Cook's Notes

Oven temperatures are for conventional; if using fan-forced (convection), reduce the temperature by 20˚C. | We use Australian tablespoons and cups: 1 teaspoon equals 5 ml; 1 tablespoon equals 20 ml; 1 cup equals 250 ml. | All herbs are fresh (unless specified) and cups are lightly packed. | All vegetables are medium size and peeled, unless specified. | All eggs are 55-60 g, unless specified.
