On 19 April, 2024, Assyrian community leaders, notable Assyrians and others expressed significant concerns in a meeting with NSW government officials following the church attack on 15 April.

The Premier, the Hon. Chris Minns, along with the Hon. Chris Bowen, Minister for Climate Change and Energy, Police Minister Hon. Yasmin Cately, NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb, Joseph La Posta, CEO of Multicultural NSW, and several State MPs were invited to foster stronger ties with the NSW government and police in response to the recent attack on Mar Mari, leader of Christ The Good Shepherd Church. During the session, some attendees urged the Premier to consider initiatives such as establishing youth liaison workers and allocating additional funds for mental health and trauma treatment.
