The National Flag of Bangladesh flying in Melbourne

Bangladesh National Flag was flown to the Federation Square in Melbourne, on the occasion of Independence Day. Bangladeshi flag was hoisted in 8 flagpoles on Monday morning. On this occasion, The Federation Square expressed solidarity with the expatriate Bangladeshis in Melbourne.

As it’s a working day, most of the Bangladeshi expatriates came to see the red-green flag flying on the center of Melbourne's in the afternoon. Some people stand alone singing, The National Anthem of Bangladesh "Amar Sonar Bangla, Ami Tomay Valobashi (My glittering golden Bengal, I love you)."
Bangladeshi expatriates responded to the questions of the local people regarding this day. In the afternoon, many Bangladeshis expressed deep respect to the martyrs of Bangladesh by singing The National Anthem in group as well.

From March 26, 2013, The National Flag flies every year at the Federation Square. 'Spirit 71' organization of Bangladeshi expatriates plays the key role to organize and implement the event successfully.  

Tajuddin, the convener of the organization, said, "We have the history of glory. Through this initiative, we want to let the world know, the story of our independence, liberation war and victory."

From the last year, The National Flag of Bangladesh also flies in the Federation Square in Melbourne on the Victory Day.
