Bangla speaking Melbourne residents have celebrated the International Mother Language Day (IMLD) 2017. This was the first time in Victoria, Victorian Bangladeshi Community Foundation (VBCF) in collaboration with Wyndham City Council hosted jointly for the celebration of IMLD 2017 to promote linguistic diversity and multilingualism.


This year IMLD will be celebrated on the same theme of UNESCO which is "Towards Sustainable Futures through Multilingual Education. There were number of activities to mark the program such as rally and laying the floral wreath on martyr monument, book fair, childrens art workshop, cultural performances, face painting, learning other language and an array of stalls with traditional crafts and cloths.
