欧盟拟促本地食品饮料包装「改名」

根据欧盟提出的改革,一些本地食品及饮料产品可能需要重新命名。

根据欧盟与澳洲拟订的《自由贸易协议》,为保障欧盟区内的自家品牌,若成功签署协议,本地希腊白色软芝士(feta)的制造商,可能要被迫改称为「澳洲白色软芝士」,本地酒商亦将禁止使用「苏格兰威士忌」之名。

但联邦贸易部长伯明罕(Simon Birmingham)接受澳洲广播公司(ABC)访问时矢言会「极力讨价还价」,他亦指政府未向欧盟作任何承诺。

此外,部份澳洲产品的包装亦需要改头换面,如莫萨里拉芝士(mozzarella)的包装不可看起来与欧洲的品牌相似。

伯明罕参议员称,未来三个月联盟党政府将与本地业界讨论有关修订。他说:「必须符合澳洲整体利益,最后才会签署协议。我们希望直接听取农民和业界的意见,待与欧盟协商时,能全面反映实况」。

欧盟是澳洲第二大贸易伙伴、第三大出口伙伴和第二大服务业出口伙伴。
