"I did backpacking around Australia until I met someone who was able to sponsor me a student visa.”

“I studied so I can land on a very good university lecturing job back home [Philippines] until I met my husband," sabi ni Ms Huggins.

"I call him husband we did a commitment ceremony in Kings Park in 2010 and I was wearing this pineapple fiber wedding dress," dagdag ni Ms Huggins.

"He helped and he made my dreams come true I mean being Australian, sabi ni Ms Huggins.

Surrogacy, kanilang opsyon

“I wrote to a very well-known and prominent IVF clinic [Dr. Marivic Tan] she is known all over Asia to have a very successful program for IVF," sabi ni Ms Huggins.

“I was taking chances because she [doctor] is a very devout and practicing Catholic so I don’t know if she’s going to have a go but might as well just try,” sabi ni Ms Huggins.

"There is no other documented or known situation where an ordinary transsexual woman worked hard and paid for everything.”

"That is my way of saying thank you [partner] for making my dreams come true [living in Australia] and now [it’s my turn] I will make your life happy," dagdag niya.

Trans mum vs Biological mum

“I believe it’s not about the blood it’s about the relationship that you establish at the end of the day,” sabi niya.

“I was the one feeding her when she was kept in the nursery for 10 days.”

“I believe that kids will always look for their biological parent and the only thing is that you do not lie to them. I am not stopping my child from recognising the biological mother”

“Maybe in the future she will know who her biological mother is,” sabi ni Ms Huggins.

“Once you have a daughter even though we were established through relationship I will give my life for her,” sabi ni Ms Huggins.

“We are not just sex objects. We are also people who are capable of loving and rearing good kids. We have [also] a mother’s instinct,” sabi ni Ms Huggins.

“it’s all about being a person, being you and that’s when we can relate and be familiar to the rest of the community and society.”
