Turkish Cypriot woman tries to find the Greek Cypriot soldier who helped her survive during the Turkish invasion

The attempt of a Turkish Cypriot to locate a Greek Cypriot soldier who at the time of the invasion was giving her daughter powdered milk as advised on the website, of Cypriot television channel, Sigma Live.

According to a report published, Birgül, who was born in March 1974, posted on social media that she wanted to get in touch with the Greek Cypriot soldier, who was secretly transported baby milk powder and gave it to her father, to feed her.

The report notes the inability of Turkish Cypriots to access essential goods during the invasion and the humanity that showed by the Greek Cypriot soldier.

Birgül's father, Ismi Mehmet Hulusi, was serving in a Turkish Cypriot outpost near the British Embassy in Nicosia.

Nearby, in the Greek Cypriot outpost, served a Greek Cypriot soldier, who knew Ismi Mehmet, before the invasion and knew that he had a newborn baby.

Wanting to help his fellow man, he carried milk and gave it to Ismi Mehmet, even during the war, according to the testimony of the father of the 46-year-old, Turkish Cypriot.

Almost half a century later, Birgül wants to locate the Greek Cypriot soldier, meet him and thank him for the good he has done for her family.
