Ayala’s latest book was inspired by the diaries of Hayuta Bussel, who was a pioneer in the Land of Israel around the turn of the 20th century. The tragedies, difficulties and challenges that Yayuta met back then correspond and strengthen the challenges faced by Ya'ara, the contemporary protagonist in the book.

Ayala Dekel was born in a religious settlement in Judea and Samaria. As Ayala grew older she opted for a secular lifestyle, but kept a vivid interest in Jewish learning, HER WAY. After serving in the army and later studying at university Ayala started a secular yeshiva, where one could study without being observant.

Ayala also tell us about the very important biblical commandment of 'Pidion Shvuim'.
"we ought to do whatever is possible and sensible to release the hostages, all the same during Passover, the festival of freedom" she adds.
