  • Occupations removed by SA IMMIGRATION have returned in the state occupation list.
  • The state had removed Cook, Motor Mechanic, Management Accountant and External Auditor from its SOL.
  • South Australia’s skilled independent visa program for subclass 190 and subclass 491 re-opened on 8 February 2021.
South Australia has re-added four occupations that were removed from its Skilled Occupations List recently.

South Australia had removed occupations such as Cook and Motor Mechanic from its SOL.

Other occupations added back are Management Accountant and External Auditor.

The state had published an updated skills list earlier last month, just before its skilled independent visa program re-opened.

However, the above-mentioned occupations were removed from the list which had left many applicants disappointed.
The authorities have told the migration agents that all the occupations will remain available through the talent and innovation stream.

Melbourne-based migration agent Chaman Preet of Migration and Education Consultants, who had attended a workshop with the SA Migration authorities, says the team said that they would close the occupation once they hit the quota.
It’s a bit of relief to see the popular occupations back on the list. It is consistent with the information provided by Migration SA team.
“They have confirmed that once an occupation hits the quota, they may be taken off other streams however they would still remain available through the talent and innovation stream,” Ms Chaman Preet told SBS Hindi.

South Australia’s skilled independent visa program for subclass 190 and subclass 491 re-opened on 8 February 2021.

The updated list had included the accountants as an occupation which was “a relief” for many.

“Visa hopefuls for these occupations had nearly lost hope in the last one year,” migration agent Chaman Preet told SBS Hindi.

The SA skilled visa program is currently unavailable to applicants applying from offshore and other Australian states and territories, but “cases may be considered in exceptional circumstances,” Migration SA states on its website.
