Carmine Savino was born in Faeto, in the province of Foggia, on January 27, 1937. Encouraged by his father, he decided to emigrate to Australia to seek a better life and the possibility of stable and paid work and on May 9, 1961 he arrived in Sydney.


A tailor by trade, during the 33 days at sea on the ship Flaminia, Carmine learned to write songs. Since then he started studying music and never stopped and has over 20 songs to his credit. He has participated in numerous festivals ranking at the top and with the lyrics of the song "Blue eyes of my boy" he participated in the UNICEF Festival of poetry for children.
