The controversy was triggered after Bhagwant Mann was seen having arguments with one of Shiromani Akali Dal’s leader while sitting next to Manmeet's mortal remains.

MP Bhagwant Mann came to Alisher village to pay his respect to the departed soul while this controversy erupted.

Bhagwant Mann was convinced to leave the cremation ceremony by Manmeet’s family and friends.
While going away he also pointed his finger at the Sangrur SSP asking him to remove his ‘red light-siren’ from the police jeep and to be respectful while paying homage to the departed soul.

Afterwards, he was also seen talking furiously to one of the cameraman who was capturing live videos of Manmeet Alisher’s cremation ceremony.

The reasons behind Bhagwant Mann’s angry behavior are yet to be ascertained.

SBS Punjabi has contacted MP Bhagwant Mann for his reaction. An update will be provided once we hear from Mr Mann.

Manmeet Alisher was known to MP Bhagwant Mann as he helped organize many of his programs in different cities during his visit to Australia.
