The Australian Government has flagged some occupations that could be removed from the list of occupations for skilled migration.
Visa applicants are required to nominate an occupation from these lists in order to apply for skilled migration to Australia.
The Department of Jobs and Small Business regularly carries out a review of the skilled migration occupation lists to ascertain the suitability of the occupations to Australia’s labour market. To carry out this process, the Department consults with industry, employers, unions and individuals.
The Department on Thursday outlined the proposed changes to the skilled occupations lists by releasing, what it calls, a traffic light bulletin and invited submissions by 20 June 2018.
The following occupations have been flagged for changes:
Traffic Light Red: occupations which may be removed from STSOL and/or MLTSSL altogether.
