Renowned Tamil politician R. M. Veerappan (aged 94), has passed away.


R. M. Veerappan (also referred to as RMV or Rama Veerappan) was an Indian politician, was a prominent Indian politician, a pioneer in the Dravidian movement, and a notable film producer and screenwriter hailing from Tamil Nadu. Veerappan was the founding force and guiding figure of the MGR Kazhagam party. Over his illustrious career, he held significant roles, including serving as a Cabinet Minister across five administrations spanning from 1977 to 1996. He was also entrusted with leadership positions such as Leader of the House in the Legislative Assembly and Leader of the ADMK party in the Legislative Council.

R. M. Veerappan breathed his last on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.
