When R&B legend Usher took to the stage for halftime show, viewers were warned his performance may cause "dancing" and "possible relationship issues".

Dressed in a bedazzled all-white outfit (the first of many costume changes), the eight-time Grammy winner kicked off the 13-minute performance at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas with Caught Up, from his 2004 album Confessions.

After quickly moving through U Don't Have to Call, Superstar, and Love in This Club, Usher's first special guest, Alicia Keys, appeared onstage at a shiny red piano.

Dressed in a matching sparkly bodysuit, the croaky first note of Keys' hit If I Ain't Got You caught the attention of some on social media — before she quickly redeemed herself.
As the hits continued coming with My Boo, Confessions Part II, Nice & Slow and Burn, so too did the special guests — but not all of them were instantly recognisable to the audience.

When H.E.R. took to the stage, for U Got It Bad and Bad Girl, several people mistook her for North West — Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's eldest daughter.
Next came a rendition of OMG, featuring Usher on rollerskates and the Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am.

But it was the arrival of Lil Jon and Ludacris for a mash-up of Turn Down for What and Yeah! that really set social media alight.
While Usher's former mentee and collaborator Justin Bieber was in Las Vegas for the game, those hoping for an on-stage appearance from him were left sorely disappointed.
Usher's many costume changes also got many people talking.
Overall, some thought Usher well and truly rose to the occasion.
But others were left with a sour taste in their mouths, reminiscing about halftime shows gone by.
This year's Super Bowl was a face-off between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.

With the score tied at the end of regular play, the Chiefs claimed a 25-22 victory in overtime to make them back-to-back champions, following up their win against the Philadelphia Eagles at last year's Super Bowl.
