More than 42 million vaccine doses have been administered across Australia since the national vaccine rollout began in February 2021.

That translates to more than 90 per cent of people over the age of 16 being fully vaccinated (two doses), with millions of booster shots set to be administered in 2022.

But concerns remain about achieving high vaccination rates among some communities.

How is each state and territory doing?

At the start of 2022, the ACT's vaccination rate continued to lead the country, with more than 95 per cent of residents aged 16 and older double-dosed.

New South WalesTasmania and Victoria have recorded vaccination rates of more than 90 per cent, while South Australia, Queensland,Western Australia and the Northern Territory have reached their 80 per cent targets, with the numbers growing each day.
