Jessica Mauboy is on the ladder to success and continues to keep climbing to the top. The Indigenous artist was awarded Best Australians Act at the 24th annual MTV Europe Music Awards, held at London’s epic Wembley arena over the weekend.

The Secret Daughter star took to social media to thank and praise all her fans for voting for her music.

“This is so super crazy and I never expected this in my life but obviously it’s because of the music, it’s because of the love and it’s because of you.”
Mauboy was amongst a star-studded cast of Aussies for the nominations such as Meg Mac, ILY, Vera Blue and PNAU.

From R&B, pop to songwriter, and even actress – the small town Northern Territory girl has continued her rise to stardom. In 20016, she became a household name in Australia, when she was named the runner-up on Australian Idol.
The Indigenous Literacy Foundation ambassador’s new single ‘’ has received more than one million views on YouTube and clearly has her fans right across the globe falling for her music, just like Mauboy sings about falling for her new man – who features in the clip.

Mauboy released an accompanying soundtrack album for The Secret Daughter, which made her the first Indigenous artist to achieve a number-one album on the ARIA Albums Chart.

The MTV EMA’s saw A-list celebrities in the music industry score awards and razzle-dazzle crowds with world-class performances from stars such as Hip hop artist, Stormzy, rockers U2 American-Cuban singer-songwriter Camila Cabello.

Mauboy is one of Australia's most successful female artists. She has won two ARIA Music Awards from 24 nominations, and was ranked sixteenth on the Herald Sun's list of the "100 Greatest Australian Singers of All Time".

Mauboy has graced the stage with some of the world’s biggest artists such as Beyonce, Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Jay Sean, and Pitbull.

Mauboy was the first solo artist from outside Europe to perform as a guest, representing Australia's interest at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014.
