Every game of the 2020-21 NBL season will again be LIVE, FREE and in HD via , with select games also live on SBS VICELAND - starting tonight from 7:30pm (AEDT).

The free-scoring American has made his name as one of the NBL’s premier talents after two seasons with the Brisbane Bullets.

An MVP candidate last season, Patterson’s incredible ability to pile on the points - both inside and outside the paint - almost made him a nightmare for opposition defences.

Although enjoying his time in the river city as the focal point of the Bullets, Patterson packed his bags and headed to the land of the long white cloud, signing with the Breakers.
The opportunity to test himself with a new team was too good to turn down for the Pittsburgh born forward.

“It was one of those things, I thought the Breakers were a good fit for me," Patterson said.

“They are a no-nonsense team and with the moves they’ve made in the offseason I think they are a title contender for sure.

“Just like every other team we have to find out chemistry but that will come with time.”

The 29-year-old returned to training with the Breakers this week at their temporary base in Tasmania.

After an offseason break dominated by COVID-19 restrictions, lockdowns and quarantine, Patterson said he is just happy to be back on the court.

“I’m happy to be back playing basketball I definitely missed it,” he said.

“It is really nice to be back in Australia.  Here in Tasmania, they don’t really have any COVID so it is really good to relax and focus on playing and training.

“The NBL has done a great job keeping the league and players safe. It has been a year of uncertainty and we just need to be ready for anything.”

While border restrictions have forced the NBL to reshuffle their schedule, one game Patterson is looking forward to is his first match back in Brisbane.
“Going up against a former team is always one of those games you mark on the schedule,” he said.

“I had a great two years in Brisbane and made some incredibly close friends who I still talk to regularly

“I love the city and the coaching staff but this is basketball and it’s a business where players come and go.”

“I’m really looking forward to getting back there and I hope the fans, as well as the players, make it an exciting contest.”
