The Slovenian again showed why he is on a level above his rivals in this year's race, riding away from the group of favourites to close an almost three minute gap to leader Matteo Jorgenson (Visma Lease-a-Bike) in the final nine kilometres of stage 19.
Along the way, Pogacar passed the remnants of the breakaway before going over the top of Jorgenson with two kilometres to go, winning ahead of the latter and Simon Yates (Jayco-AlUla) who finished third.

With his fourth stage-winning ride, Pogacar again increased his lead on overall rivals Jonas Vingegaard (Visma Lease-a-Bike) and Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-QuickStep) who could only chase in vain as they finished together in fifth and sixth, a minute and 42 seconds behind.
The result puts Vingegaard's deficit in second place at five minutes and 3 seconds and Evenepoel's at seven minutes and 1 second with two stages now left to race before the winner and podium are cemented in Nice.
"Our race was 100% perfect," Pogacar said following the stage, his 15th all-time win at the Tour de France.
"My goal today was to win the stage, but as I approached the last two kilometres, I felt a little drained. I'm very happy. Reaching the score of fifteen Tour stage victories is quite formidable.
"Now I have a good lead. Tomorrow I can let the escape go to the end. I will do the last two days of the Tour on the roads where I have trained my entire professional career.”
Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost) got into the breakaway and finished fourth on the stage to take over the King of the Mountains jersey from Pogacar, meaning he will now wear it at least for tomorrow's ride to the Col de la Couillole.
Australian Jai Hindley (Red Bull BORA-Hansgrohe) had another strong performance in the breakaway to back up his eighth place finish yesterday with a 15th place finish today, summiting Isola 2000 four minutes and 17 seconds behind the winner.
