Scott McGrory is a former professional track cyclist, who continues to share his passion for the sport, working as a commentator and presenter.
Scott famously won gold, alongside Brett Aiken, at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney just 10 weeks after tragically losing his 11-week-old son. In an interview Scott said the support of his wife was paramount during this time, saying “after a few days Donna talked me into at least trying to go on. Her reasoning was that we had lost so much already, if we gave up on the Olympics as well we’d have nothing.”
Other highlights in his career include winning silver in the Madison 1996 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Manchester and a bronze medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. Scott also represented Australia in the road race events at both the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur and the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.
