Stages 10 & 11 - Crosswind drama / chances for Caleb

After the rest day, the Tour de France resumes with Stage 10, a 168km journey along the west coast of France from Île d'Oléron to Île de ré St-Martin-de-Ré. 'I'll just catch up with the replay/morning update,' you're thinking?

Such thinking is folly. Sure, it is pancake flat but the contenders for yellow and their teams will need to pay attention as the route runs right along the coastline.
The stage could start and end in crosswind carnage.
Whatever happens, if Australian Caleb Ewan is there at the finish, you will want to see him contest the stage win.

Stage 11, 167kms from Châtelaillon-Plage to Poitiers, should go according to the sprinters' plans. But with another chance to see an Aussie win plus the battle for the green jersey far from over, it's another stage you won't want to miss.

Stage 13 - Friday night is alright for GC fighting

The technical director of the Tour de France, Thierry Gouvenou says this 191km stage from Châtel-Guyon to Puy Mary Cantal in the Massif Central is the hardest day of the 2020 Tour de France, and with 4,400 metres of vertical gain, we believe him.

The finish on the Puy Mary climb could prove decisive for the yellow jersey battle. Expect attacks.

Stage 14 - It's Saturday night - it's bike racing in France

This 194km stage from Clermont-Ferrand to Lyon is unlikely to end in a ding-dong GC battle - it's one for the puncheurs (riders who like rolling hills with a bit of speed). But it's Saturday night. And there's bike riding on. In France. Not sure we need to say any more.

Stage 15 - Yellow jersey fireworks before the rest day

Set your alarms. Get in an afternoon nanna nap, plan Monday off from work - we're heading 174kms from Lyon to the Grand Colombier.

But before we hit the final 17.4km, 7.1 per cent gradient climb to the summit finish, there are two category 1 bumps to conquer first. But tomorrow is a rest day, so expect a bit of a yellow jersey party.

On a similar stage to Grand Colombier at the Tour de l'Ain race last month, Primož Roglič defeated defending Tour de France champion Egan Bernal by four seconds, but Nairo Quintana, Guillaume Martin and Australian Richie Porte were all there within shouting distance.
