Landon has seen it all in her 51 years in Australian Basketball. First as a player with the Bankstown Bruins starting in 1968, right up until her work with the NBL and WNBL as an administrator.
It's her constant work in the game that saw her added to the Hall of Fame in 2019.
Landon has now shared the story of how the Sydney Kings, one of the country's most famous Basketball clubs, came to be.
“The NBL started in (19)79, we had two teams in Sydney. I worked for the Bankstown Bruins. Which was one of the leading teams in NSW.
"It was tough, we were in a small venue. We knew we needed to try and get into a larger venue. TV companies wanted that. We weren’t attracting the sponsors.
"Likewise for Sydney City, which was run by Mike Wrublewski.
"(Wrublewski) became involved in 1985. After two years he talked to our board about making one team. Do you keep the name? Or do you create a new name?
"In 1988, we came together and created a new team. I selected the colours.
"We very quickly became successful. Mike was ahead of his time as an entrepreneur.
"He used to say to me you can't spend a dollar until I earn two. We were quite ruthless but we were successful.
"It was a really exciting time for Basketball in the 1990s. There was a buzz about the sport. It was just a good time.
"We were running a community program in schools that were connecting with a lot of kids.
Landon would go on to work for the Australian Olympic Committee for the 2000 Sydney Games and then worked for Basketball Australia before she returned to the Kings for another eight years.
"It was a whole new ball game. A lot of fun. A lot of challenges. But, a great enjoyment.
