So it turns out Kristen Stewart is an angel - officially.

According to the actress and queer icon has signed on to star in the new reboot of Charlie's Angels, which is being directed by Elizabeth Banks, who will also co-star as Bosley, the mysterious Charlie's right-hand woman.
Actresses Naomi Scott, who is set to star as  Jasmine in Disney's Aladdin remake, and Ella Balinska, known in the UK for her work on Midsomer Murders, are set to star alongside Stewart as fellow Angels.

According to Banks, Charlie's Angels was "one of the original brands to celebrate the empowered woman", having first hit television screens in the 70s, before being adapted for the big screen in 2000.

"This film honours the legacy of Charles Townsend and his agency while introducing a new era of modern and global Angels," Banks continued.
"I couldn’t be more excited to work with Kristen, Naomi and Ella to bring this chapter to fans around the world."

While it's not yet clear whether K-Stew's character will be queer, members of the LGBTIQ+ community were quick to celebrate her inclusion.

"I'm into it I'll watch my gay overlord in anything," one fan wrote on Twitter.

"Kristen Stewart better be gay as hell in Charlie's Angels," wrote another.

The film, which is being produced by Sony, is set for release in 2019.
