A man from Chicago has paid tribute to the Netflix reboot of Queer Eye - and one cast-member in particular - with a touching tattoo.

Chris Sutton took to social media today to share his new tattoo of grooming guru Jonathan Van Ness, who he says inspired him to embrace his authentic self.
"Can you believe?? Today I had the honor to sit down with for this amazing portrait of Sutton wrote on Instagram.

He continued: "As many of you know, I grew up in a small town in rural America and did not have many (any) queer people to look up to. Back in February of this year, decided to reboot the show Upon watching the show, I was instantly drawn to Jonathan and his energy."
"But what I loved more was his message to kids, especially those kids in small town, America. That it’s ok to be your absolute authentic self and cut out toxic people from your life. If I had someone like to look up to when I was younger, I may have ended in a completely different place."

Sutton said that Van Ness had motivated him to make some changes in his life - including pursuing a new career path.
"I’m super thankful for the inspiration and message that this show has provided and I’m looking forward to continuing my journey, a little bit more ," he concluded.

Van Ness, who was nominated for two Emmy Awards earlier this month, was quick to share a photo of the tattoo, calling it "a first".
"What an amazing thing to say," he commented on Sutton's original post.

"You are a beautiful person and I'm honoured you allowed me to lift you up. Big kiss!"
