Singapore’s vibrant food scene is full of fun and fascinating treats for your tastebuds, but few are quite as colourful as this cafe's creative crepes.
Situated in the country's Kallang district, Fairy Floss cafe looks like a unicorn's wig store with jars upon jars of rainbow cotton candy.
Their signature dish is a fairy floss crepe that sees the multi-coloured candy rolled up in a flavoured crepe and eaten like a spring roll.
Whilst adding fairy floss is not new to the dessert circuit, part of the fun here is in building the treat yourself as the crepe and fairy floss come separately so as not to melt the delicate sugar strands.
Inspired by the Thai tradition of pandan fairy floss crepes, or Roti Sai Mai, these are a version that "caters to the heath conscious consumers in Singapore", while leveraging off the recent trend for Instagram-worthy rainbow food.
The size of the crepe and the amount of filling is really up to you and whilst in Thailand the spicy versions are very popular, in Singapore the sweet versions reign supreme and dessert-lovers can once again rejoice when it comes to Singapore's sweet offerings.
To keep things interesting, the cafe regularly rotates both the flavour of the crepe and colours of the fairy floss on offer, and of course, they cater for children’s parties, weddings and other events.
