57-year-old Sydney resident Jagdish Singh has been charged with the murder of his partner Harjit Kaur after the couple's son reportedly found the 56-year-old woman's body in the kitchen of their northwest Sydney home.
Police were called to the Glenwood residence in Sydney on Tuesday afternoon following the discovery.
Singh was arrested several hours later by police at a nearby Kings Langley shopping centre, and authorities also seized his car as part of their investigation.
Acting Superintendent Wayne Humphrey said, ‘The crime scene is still being processed by forensic police and number of witnesses are being interviewed.”
Neighbours have told the the woman, mother of two had been living in the garage on the property for two years.
The man has spent the night in police custody and did not appear at Blacktown Local Court on Wednesday. He did not apply for bail and the case will return to court in May.
