Man of the moment Lil Nas X has appeared on The Ellen Show, speaking to Ellen DeGeneres about his career, coming out as gay, and whether or not he's currently dating anyone.
As so many of Ellen's interviews do, the pair's chat began with a well-organised prank, with a doppelgänger of the rapper's 'Old Town Road' collaborator Billy Ray Cyrus jumping out of the box next to his seat.
However, things soon took a sincere turn, with Ellen saying "I can’t tell you how much I admire you".
“Here you are that the height of like your brand new career – brand new – and you decide to come out,” she continued, asking Lil Nas why he decided to come out publicly.
The 20-year-old responded by saying that he had wanted to come out earlier, but struggled with anxieties about the possible reactions.
"I had to worry about family, friends and how they would react," he said. “[However] In the past year, I’m on a new level, so it doesn’t really matter,”
"Also, how it would be good for the young'uns who are listening to me right now and are going to have to go through stuff like this in the future."
And when Ellen asked the rapper whether he was currently dating someone?
"Somewhat," Nas said, with a cheeky grin.
