Riverstone Police Area Command confirmed that no fraudulent activity was involved and also released a statement publicly on their Facebook page.

A viral video showing an elderly mother lying in front of a car sparked false widespread accusations of insurance fraud on social media. However, Riverstone Police Area Command has clarified the misinterpretation as the family member has come forward to share the real story.


Speaking to SBS Punjabi, Mr Singh who recorded the video to document a family argument, explains that his mother, overwhelmed by anger and stress, impulsively lay in front of a car.

"A family altercation led to a distressing moment captured on video, triggering widespread speculation of financial motives," he said.
After the incident, when Mr Singh saw this video getting viral on social media,

Mr. Singh, acknowledging the distress caused to the driver and the community, has appealed for accurate reporting and understanding.
