Good things just keep getting better.

Rapper of the moment Lil Nas X has made history yet again, becoming the first out gay man to take home a Country Music Association Award, reports.

He and Billy Rae Cyrus, who he collaborated with on the remix of 'Old Town Road', took home the Musical Event of the Year award.

The win wasn't only significant because of Lil Nas X's sexuality, however, with the song's genre-bending classification as country rap meaning its inclusion in the award ceremony was already controversial -  so much so that it was earlier this year.
"Determining which chart a song lives on is an ongoing process that depends on a number of factors, most notably the song’s musical composition, but also how the song is marketed and promoted, the musical history of the artist, airplay the song receives and how the song is platformed on streaming services," Billboard .

It's already been a huge year for the star.

Back in October, his , meaning roughly 10 million sales in the United States, with Lil Nas X joined Sir Elton John as the only two gay men in history to have achieved reached the milestone.

Earlier this week he was listed as one of , as one of the up-and-coming music industry figures changing the game.

We can't wait to see what he's got in store for 2020 - and hope he's building a bigger trophy cabinet.
